Annual Best Paper Award

Publication: Journal of Transportation Engineering
Volume 131, Issue 11
Alexandre de Barros and S. C. Wirasinghe, “New Large Aircraft Gate Requirements for Shared Space and Stage Construction,” J. Transp. Eng., 130(2).
The paper presents an analytical methodology to evaluate the gate position requirements for a terminal accommodating a mix of aircraft of various sizes. The approach has the potential of significant cost savings from the use of space sharing and stage construction. We warmly congratulate the authors.
The annual award has been given since 1991. Recommendations made by the reviewers are considered by the editors in selecting the best paper. Because the quality of a journal depends on the quality of the submitted papers and the rigor of the review process, we gratefully acknowledge the contributions made by authors and reviewers.
