Terminal Access and the Choice of Intercity Modes
Publication: Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE
Volume 95, Issue 3
Abstract
The expanding city and the growing mobility of the population has created greater demand for transportation between cities. The operators of intercity transportation facilities have responded by providing high quality facilities, which offer improved service between city pairs. The travel time between transportation terminals has been reduced substantially by the airplane, improved intercity highways, and improved rail facilities.
