Specifying Pipeline Construction
Publication: Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE
Volume 105, Issue 4
Abstract
The methods used and the role of the specifier in specifying pipeline construction varies from office to office. The practices of one office in specifying construction of water and sewer pipelines buried in the ground, submerged, or exposed above grade or inside of structures, largely for public work type projects are cited. Legal considerations and documents of the Construction Specifications Institute, other professional societies, and individual manufacturers are brought to the reader's attention. The more universal considerations involved in pipeline construction are examined.
