Analysis of Symmetrically Loaded Slab on Elastic Solid
Publication: Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE
Volume 100, Issue 2
Abstract
The purpose of this note is to present a finite element method for analyzing a symmetrically loaded slab on an elastic solid. Results are given comparing data from one-quarter of a slab versus data generated using a whole slab. Results show that both methods check closely. However, the method involving a one-quarter slab uses substantially less computer time and storage while providing as good a solution as the whole slab method.
