Abstract
The principle of hydraulic equivalent is presented herein for the study of the critical flow in open channels. Based on the modification of the equation of specific energy and the introduction of equivalent coefficients, graphs have been prepared. These graphs, developed originally in the metric system and used for many years, will assist engineers in the analysis of open channels.
