Periodical Gravity Wave on a Discontinuity

Abstract
A general theory is presented to study the transmission and reflection of gravity waves on a discontinuity to the first order of approximation. Particular attention is given to the cases of an obstruction, a change of width, and a change of depth. In the latter case only, the gravity wave arriving at an angle is studied.
