Abstract
A method for the analysis of frames with nonlinear behavior subjected to lateral deformations is presented. The nonlinear characteristics of both the members and the connections are considered. The relationships needed for the analysis of mild steel frames including strain hardening are derived for use with any structural wide flange sections with an error of less than ±% in the resisting moments. Two examples are presented to illustrate the applications of the method.
