Unusual Foundation Conditions in the Everglades

Abstract
Unusual foundation conditions encountered on that part of the Central and Southern Florida Project to be built in the Everglades include (1) very pervious solution-riddled limestone in the foundations of water-retention works, (2) thick layers of soft peat in levee foundations, and (3) structure foundations of interbedded sand and porous limestone.
