Abstract
The Hales Bar Hydroelectric Plant on the Tennessee River was built between 1905 and 1914. In 1941 a comprehensive program of improvements and additions was begun which was intended to improve the safety of some of the original structures, to facilitate navigation, to increase the power capacity and output of the station, and at the same time to simplify operation.
