Abstract
Photogrammetry developed at a normal, cautious pace in the decade before World War II and had only achieved a certain minor acceptance among engineers in general. The war gave such a spectacular demonstration of the many applications of aerial photography and photogrammetry that engineers very where have grown to recognize these new tools as something very practical and ready for immediate use in their problems. This paper concerns the status of the art of aerial photography and photogrammetry as influenced by wartime experience.
