Abstract
The paper aims to present a complete, concise treatise on the theory of similarity and models. Newton's theorem, which is not generally understood, is shown to cover every possible type of dynamic model. A misconception which has been unduly propagated, is disclosed and traced to its source. It is shown that models can be built to specification, as to materials and their properties, so as to perform with theoretical exactness. It is suggested that materials, including fluids, should be sought, made, or arranged, so as to adapt them especially for service in models, thus opening a new field in engineering. The theory is based upon data given in a previous paper by the writer.
