Abstract
This paper presents an outline of a program of research and experiment on centrifugal pumps conducted in the Hydrau1ic Laboratory of the University of Michigan. This study has resulted in: 1.— The discovery of a number of errors in present accepted theories; 2.— The development of an entirely new theory ; and 3.— The successful application of the new theory in increasing the efficiency of the centrifugal pump.
