Publication: Transactions of the American Society of Civil Engineers
Volume 91, Issue 2
Abstract
This paper describes briefly some of the developments under the Illinois Sanitary District Act of 1917. At this time (May, 1926), fourteen sanitary districts have been organized with populations ranging from 1 700 to 60 000. Several others are in contemplation. Three of the districts have placed sewage treatment works in operation; in five others, major construction work is under way; and, in another, work is expected to start during the year.
