Transit facilities need both kinds of talent to locate and construct the permanent way and to furnish the equipment of motive power and moving vehicles. All classes of engineers are interested in the fundamental principles which underlie the most economical distribution of transportation units to secure the safest and most adequate systems for the movement of both passengers and freight.
