Abstract
The Mexican Light and Power Company was formed to develop the water power of the Necaxa, Tenango and neighboring rivers and transmit it to the Cities of Mexico and Puebla, and to the mining camps of Pachuca and El Oro. About 90 miles northeast of the City of Mexico these streams have cut through the mountains surrounding the elevated central plateau of Mexico, and fall abruptly to the low country bordering the Gulf. The rivers come together a few miles below, and eventually discharge into the Gulf of Mexico some 70 miles farther east. There is a series of picturesque falls like those in Fig. 1, Plate XI, with vertical drops of from 300 to 800 ft., and a total fall of 4500 ft. in 10 miles.
