Flow Past Fence in Turbulent Boundary Layer
Publication: Journal of the Hydraulics Division
Volume 106, Issue 1
Abstract
The flow past a fence submerged in a turbulent boundary layer is studied experimentally. The characteristics of the flow both upstream and downstream of the fence are presented. The variation of boundary layer parameters, velocities, turbulence intensities and skin friction are reported. The size of the upstream and downstream separation bubbles are also correlated with relevant parameters. The results are also compared with the numerical solution of momentum and energy integral equations for the approach boundary layer.
