Abstract
A laboratory experiment shows that wind plays an important role in reaeration phenomena. Using a wind tunnel-water channel facility equipped with temperature control, closed controlled conditions could be maintained. The reaeration phenomenons in the chemically deoxygenated water was monitored temporally. As well the turbulent wind profiles over the water surfaces were measured together with the mean water velocity and the wind produced wave characteristics. Curve fitting techniques were used to determine the reaction constants. The results indicate order of magnitude variations in reaeration coefficients are attributable to the wind conditions.
