Abstract
An exact solution is obtained with the help of Schwartz-Christoffel transformations for the determination of exit gradient and uplift pressures on the bottom of a hydraulic structure foundation on permeable soils of finite depth with finite or infinite pervious reaches on the upstream and downstream sides. The uplift pressures below such structures increase with an increase in the upstream pervious reach and decrease with an increase in the downstream pervious reach. The value of the exit gradient also increases with an increase in the downstream pervious reach. The results have been plotted in the form of easy-to-use curves.
