Abstract
A seminar, in which information was exchanged relating to the hydraulic engineering aspects which affect the quality of the waters in streams and reservoirs, was held July 15-16, 1965. This conference was sponsored by the Hydraulics and Sanitary Engineering Divisions of the American Society of Civil Engineers and by the Sanitary and Water Resources Engineering Department of Vanderbilt University. The principal purpose of the seminar was to bring together people engaged in the study of the many disciplines related to water quality problems so that the interrelationship between the various disciplines could be explored. Sixty-seven persons participated in discussions relative to seven major subjects. These were: (1) impoundments; (2) river; (3) estuaries; (4) model and prototypes; (5) data and instrumentation; (6) quality modification; and (7) systems and optimization. This report covers the organization of the seminar and contains a digest of each of the seven panel discussions.
