Abstract

Investigation of distribution and magnitudes of boundary shear stresses in curved reaches of smooth trapezoidal channels under conditions of subcritical flow; tests conducted to determine effects of variation in discharge and bend geometry on shear pattern; flows through channel curves were studied and local shear stresses were measured with surface pitot tube modified for application in free surface flows.
