Synthetic Peak Discharges for Design Criteria
Publication: Journal of the Hydraulics Division
Volume 88, Issue 5
Abstract
Method for determining peak discharges at stations where records are too short to afford reliable data or at ungaged locations; method uses multiples of unit hydrograph peaks to describe peak discharges and relates frequency of occurrence of these multiples to average annual volumes of storm runoff; unit hydrograph accounts for basin characteristics, and volume of storm runoff accounts for variations in rainfall and soils.
