Abstract
Study deals with manner in which originally sharp interface between 2 miscible liquids is altered as liquids undergo unsteady motion in porous medium; specifically, fresh water-salt water system in small-size uniform gravel medium was considered; experiments were conducted in vertical plexiglass column; unsteady motion was that resulting from falling-head type of arrangement; work was undertaken to study one aspect of problem of salinity intrusion in ground water.
