Abstract
Relationships are proposed for prediction of scour at piers and abutments for case in which sediment is supplied to scour hole; relationships were obtained from combination of approximate analysis and laboratory experiments, and depend on knowledge of flow conditions at bridge site; studies were made at Iowa Institute of Hydraulic Research.
