Abstract
The second writer et al. (3) described a real-time reservoir operation optimization procedure which could be applied to multiple facility situations involving nonlinear constraints and objectives. Application was made to the Central Valley Project (CVP) in California. The procedure essentially consists of Incremental Dynamic Programming with Successive Approximations (IDPSA) for which a required initial feasible policy is generated by an adaptive Linear Programming (LP) routine.
