Abstract
It is of considerable importance to coastal engineers to develop a standard theoretical wave spectra for use in mathematical modeling in laboratory ocean wave simulation for model studies, and for solution of wave forecasting problems. A number of one-dimensional wave spectra have been proposed and most of these are based on data collected in the North Atlantic. The generality of the theoretical wave spectra will be considerable enhanced if an independent check using measured wave obtained under different environments and conditions could be provided. The purpose of this note is to provide this check using wave data obtained on the west coast of India.
