Abstract
Planners or groups who make decisions concerning zoning and land use must pay closer attention to the background of the people they are representing. Migration trends in the Washington area are reviewed. Recent trends in housing patterns, educational patterns, and family incomes should be reviewed closely by planners. Combinations of land use are recommended as is coordinating land use with transportation. Citizen involvement is an important aspect.
