Masjid (Mosque) Designing

The following parts of a masjid require special consideration: the praying area, the toilets, the prayer call points, full-time devotion, shoe space, and support facilities. The basic requirement for a masjid is a clean and pure area for offering prayers. The quantity and quality of facilities provided depends on the individual needs of the masjid and the resources available. The architectural style should be truthful (i.e., a masjid should look like a masjid), simple, magnetic, and inspiring. Distractive decor and lavishness must be avoided. Flooring should be comfortable to sit on, but easy to clean and maintain. Lighting should be adequate for reading, and the acoustics should be good. The handicapped must receive full consideration.
