Comparison of Analytical Relative-Orientation Methods

Publication: Journal of the Surveying and Mapping Division
Volume 98, Issue 1

Abstract

Various analytical relative-orientation procedures were developed during the last two decades. The literature is, however, deficient in information on the extent to which these methods are practically feasible, their precision, and their efficiency. Investigations have been carried out, at the Roorkee University to obtain this data. Computer programs were developed for use with the IBM 1620. On the basis of the results, it has been concluded that the coplanarity method is the best among the methods selected for investigations.
