Pullout Resistance of Anchors Buried in Sand

Abstract
Anchors are used for many purposes, and it is important to be able to predict the pullout resistance. The study presented herein was made to clarify the relationship between sand density anchor size, overburden stress, and pullout resistance of deep anchors (D/B = 5) buried in sand. The study involved small scale lab tests and a limited number of field tests.
