Soil Vertical Stress Influence Charts for Rectangles

Abstract
To determine quickly the σ stress, and at the same time to plot vertical stress fields, the author presents herein corresponding σZ/σo ratio influence value tables for a uniformly loaded rectangular area with a contact pressure intensity on the soil of σo = 1.00000 = const. A σZ/σo influence value chart for a uniformly loaded square area (A/B = 1.0), and two σZ/σo influence value charts for a rectangular area characterized by A/B = 1.5 as examples of σZ/σo values in vertical planes X = 0 passed through the center O(0;0) of the rectangular parallel to the short (2B) side of the rectangles.
