Abstract
The St. Louis Section ASCE established a committee in February 1963, composed of its own members, representatives from many municipal and governmental agencies, interested contractors, and utilities and the Home Builder's Association to develop definite recommendations for the improvement of construction methods as they affect the maintenance and riding qualities over areas in which backfill for the installation of underground utilities was necessary.
