Multiple Soil Sampler

Abstract
Portable sampling device has been developed that will collect several disturbed soil samples from various depths simultaneously; it is designed for use in sands and silts beneath water table and is constructed from E drill rod; sampler may be driven with light automatic hammer and extracted with portable jack; apparatus has been used for 18 mo, and 2600 soil samples have been collected.
