Abstract
The problem of predicting the reaeration rate in open-channel flow has attracted considerable attention in the recent years. The purpose of this technical note is to present evidence that the data from the 1-ft wide flume in fact matches the field data of Churchill just as well as the data from the 2-ft wide flume. A prediction equation is proposed which is applicable to all three sets of data. Some observations are made based on dimensional analysis and inspection of available data.
