Abstract
Economic analysis of 2 composting plants in Israel is presented in order to illustrate economic feasibility of refuse composting under certain favorable conditions; data, although not directly translatable into costs for similar plants in United States, tend to point out that composting plants may be in same cost range as refuse disposal by incinerators; if market for sale of compost, even at normal price, could be developed, composting might eventually prove to be economical alternative to incineration in certain areas of United States.
