Pollution of the Androscoggin River

Abstract
Results of corrective measures against pollution caused by 3 large paper and pulp mills, employed under court-appointed monitor; measures included construction of storage lagoons for sulphite liquor with controlled discharge, regulated production of sulphite pulp, changes in manufacturing processes, application of NaNO3 to pool, and analyses of river water; decrease of pollution and nearly complete correction of odor nuisance was achieved.
