Integrated System for Production of Joists
Publication: Journal of the Structural Division
Volume 101, Issue 4
Abstract
An integrated system developed for the manufacture of open-web joists is described. This system links together all phases of the process from analysis through detailing to shop production and provides all output display and documentation required. Provision is made for differences in shop practices, section properties, and code requirements between plants. Substantial cost savings resulting from reduced design and detailing time and better inventory and shop control are possible.
