Empirical Formula for Fundamental Natural Period

Abstract
In this paper an improved method to predict the fundamental natural period of multistory multibay frame is proposed. The method requires a chart and some simple arithmetic; however, the computation effort is not increased significantly over that required by other empirical formulas.
