Behavior of Unsymmetrical-Continuous Folded Plates
Publication: Journal of the Structural Division
Volume 95, Issue 12
Abstract
Values of longitudinal stresses obtained from six different tests on continuous and cantilevered folded plate structures with rigid supports under the action of symmetrical and unsymmetrical concentrated fold line loads are compared with the results from a theoretical analysis carried out on an electronic, digital computer. Theoretical analysis is based on the assumptions of the ordinary theory. An iteration method, which is modified to assure convergence in a finite number of cycles for all types of geometric configurations, is used to correct for relative joint displacements.
