Abstract
A proposed methodology for computing the depth of water on a flexible draining roof at any time, T, after the beginning of a rainstorm is presented. The results have application in the studies of roof failures due to ponding and for the design of roof members and roof drains where ponding problems are expected. Curves are given for simple horizontal and simple sloped roofs. A case study of an actual roof system that failed is given to illustrate the application of the general methodology to more complex situations.
