Abstract
The U. S. has 6% of the world's population, 35% of its gross domestic product, but is becoming one large junkyard. The Creative Architect is needed to combine Art and Science in designing Institutional Structures. Wood is and can continue to be a good material for use in building because it has been used for many years and its characteristics are well known. Wood has many artistic expressions and structural possibilities. The cooperation of everyone connected with the wood industry is necessary for efficient and aesthetic use of wood in Institutional Structures.
