Abstract
Moment distribution operations are transformed into flowgraph representation. All initial joint residuals are independent sources feeding into the graph; the moments at the member ends are dependent variables. The solution of moment-flow graph is an exact algebraic form developed from single-flow graph of feedback theory. Each unknown can be solved individually by the inspection of graph paths and independent of the remainder. Three general equations are developed to determine the moment influence coefficients without recourse to the original derivatives and the graph. These equations provide the exact solutions without solving sets of simultaneous equations, or involving iterative computations, enabling use of a small digital computer or desk calculator independent of the redundancy of the system.
