Abstract
A mathematical method is presented for the analysis of composite beam bridges by a more exact theory of composite orthotropic plates. Such an approach leads to a more accurate appraisal of beam moments. The computational techniques used in the analysis may be applied to other similar problems and are especially adaptable for use in electronic computers. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the method of solution, and the results are compared with those based on an approximate theory.
