Strength of Prestressed Concrete Pavements

Publication: Journal of the Structural Division
Volume 88, Issue 5

Abstract

Method for determining distribution of stresses and deflections in prestressed concrete pavements beyond conditions to which elastic theory is applicable; method is limited to load applied at interior position of slab supported by dense liquid foundation and prestressed equally in longitudinal and transverse directions; by use of method, magnitude of load causing top surface cracking and location of this cracking can be predicted.
