Drawdown Solutions for Simultaneous Drainage and ET

Publication: Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division
Volume 101, Issue 4

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present numerical solutions for drawdown between parallel drains. Numerous methods (1-5, 7, 8, 10, 16) for characterizing water table drawdown have been presented over the past 20 yr. Although there are notable exceptions (7,8) most of the approaches have accepted the Dupuit Forchheimer (D-F) assumptions and used as the governing relationship a nonlinear partial differential equation, sometimes termed the Boussinesq equation.
