Abstract
An aggregate water deficiency model developed to isolate the relationship between water and sugar cane yield is presented along with the empirical results of a specific application to plantation data. The usefulness of the model as a basis for dealing with a number of economic problems in irrigation management is demonstrated in both a theoretical and empirical analysis.
