Abstract
The Department of Water Resources, State of California, has estimated that the agricultural waste water disposal requirement for the San Joaquin Valley will peak at about 500,000 acre-ft annually by the year 2000. It has been determined that disposal of municipal and industrial waste waters from the valley is not practicable at this time. The disposal requirement is defined as that waste water which can no longer be beneficially reused locally in competition with the costs of disposal and the development of a replacement supply.
