Abstract
There has been a tremendous quantity of work done on salinity problems and salinity control on individual irrigation projects, but little has been done on the management of salinity of a complete river-basin system. This paper is an attempt to explore the many interactions involved, and to outline the factors that must be considered in river-basin planning. It should also be helpful in planning multipurpose transfer schemes involving multiple riverbasin systems.
