Abstract
From a theoretical treatment of entrance velocity distribution around and inside the well a new development of well screen design is achieved. In support of the theoretical development, a laboratory investigation was made. From the results attained theoretically and experimentally for the entrance velocity distribution around a well screen, a design was developed providing the most economical screen length in keeping with the amount of water to be withdrawn from the well.
