Abstract
With greater utilization of water resources, the importance of stable channel concepts becomes increasingly apparent for technical and economic reasons. A real effort should be put forth to develop better methods of design and control of artificial and natural channels both large and small for conveyance of water (either clear or sediment laden), for irrigation, drainage, navigation, flood control, and flood protection.
