Environmental Considerations in Design of Transmission Lines

Abstract

The electric power industry has the real and important responsibility of facing up to the demands which have been created by the impact of our installations on the surroundings. Transmission line engineers have to consider alignment and tower appearance carefully in the design stage. The line must be integrated and blended with, and concealed by, the surrounding environment. Development of esthetically acceptable structures is of utmost importance.
